A charming couple seen dancing was Mr. and Mrs. James M. Huff. 1st Sergeant Huff i was the chairman of the dance... Edwin, Pavao was seen doing his , Jitterbug as usual... A group of girls representing the Hilo CYO club were present at the dance which made the Hilo boys here feel right at home... Corporal Rodrigues of Company D proved to be a swell rug cutter as he was seen dancing on several occasions * with a very charmiug young lady from Makawao... Private Akui i made his debut on the dance floor, that night and came through with flying colors except from being a little nervous... 'Corporal August Nascimento was trying*to do the jitterbug but at the same time trying to sing VMaria Elena In waltz time ... Your scribe had the pleasure of dancing with the eharming Miss Charlotte Maroiel, who arrived from Honolulu laat Thursday to spend the rest of the summer with her folks hero. Miss Marclel created quite a sensation when she demonstrated the “Stocking dance, a latest dancing fad from the big city... 8taff Sergeant Russell Law did some fast stepping with his charming young wife ... Another charming couple seen on the floor was Technical Sergeant and Mrs. Adrian D’Esmond.Staff Sergeant Santos was seen running all around the dance floor to see how many wahines tie could dance with before the clock struck twelve... Captain Daniel and Mrs. Lansing also did their bit at the dance as they were seen swaying to and fro... 2nd Lt Tsubota looked very handsome in his evening clothing but your scribe missed him on the dance floor... Pretty Miss Mary Gomes, one of Hilo’s best rug cutters was also present... Private First Class Charley De Costa finally convinced himself last night that dancing is a wonderful past time... Technical Lawrence Sousa was trying to beat out Technical Carl Willing in seeing who*, could “date up more wahines at the dance that night. . * . jr.u, . ::.i .
