Work Starts On Construction Of Big Pipeline Of People’s Gas Co.The survey of the new 113-mile pipe line of the People’s Natural Gas from the Tioga and Potter county fields, to Limestone, Clarion county, near New Bethlehem, where it will connect with the company's lines of the Pittsburgh district, is now well progressed and construction work is being started at Hebron, in Potter county, northern terminus of the line.An eighteen-foot right-of-way is being acquired and a telephone lino will be strung along with laying of the pipe-line.The right-of-way follows an airline route, passing through Sergeant, Norwich and Liberty townships In Mc-K*an county, Clermont, near Smeth-port, being on the line. The route passes through Elk and Jefferson counties.The pipe line will be 123 inches Indiameter and will have a capacity of 26.000,000 feet of gas per day. It will cost $1,500,000 and will be one of the largest natural gas pipe line constructions in Western Pennsylvania in many years—in fact, one of the largest recent jobs in the United States.Employment will be given a force of100,000 men.Work has already been started on the southern end.The Dresser Mfg. Co. of Bradford has the contract for supplying the pipe couplings and the Jones McLaughlin Steei Co. of Pittsburgh is filling the pipe contract.The construction contract is being rilled by the Wiiliutns Brothers Co. of Tulsa, Okla.The contract calls for completion of the job by November 15.
