No. 2, said after the fire.We list the cause of the fire officially as ‘unknown,’ but there’s no question it was arson by juveniles,” Latronica said.The vandals broke through boarded-up windows shortly after 11pm and set fire to a stairwell in the center of the mansion, according to Fire Capt John Glas-son He said the fire appeared to have cause extensive damage.S4,IKM) In PledgesThe Bucks County Conservancy has received $4 000 in pledges to erect a fence around the building,believed to be one of the oldeststill standing in the country.But Conservancy director Robert Pierson said no fence will be set up unul the township deeds the property to the Conservancy.The township commissioners and the Conservancy have reached a general agreement on the transfer of deed, but ownership of Bolton won’t be switched until further details are worked out.In the meantime, the 287-year-old mansion on Holly Hill Drive continues to be the target of vandals.Injured in the Saturday night blaze were Chaplain Brian Hunt, wrenched knee and injured arm; Lt Mike Dean, wrenched knee;and hoseman James Glasson, who was treated for smoke inhalation and heat exhaustion at Lower Bucks Hospital; and Mike Knoth, treated for smoke inhalation bythe Levittown-Fairless Hills Rescue Squad,“The township is violating its own fire code and own building code with that building.” Latronica said. “Since the township moved out of there in 1967. we've requested a fence, but we’ve been turned down“Now we, the fire company, want it torn down...
