Singles danceShadow Canyon will perform at the singles dance Sunday at the Eagles Lodge, U.S. Highway 83 and West Mary Street.The dance, sponsored by Garden City Singles, will begin at 7:30 p.m. Admission is $5 and people attending must be single and age 21 or older.Burnett family reunionThe Burnett family reunion Aug. 8 at the JOY Center in Dighton included a basket dinner and a day of fellowship with 70 relatives and guests attending. Family members came from throughout Kansas and from I^mar, Colo.The afternoon included group singing, drawings for door prizes, and a motion to meet in 2000. again in Dighton. Officers elected were: Lenny Burnett, president; Betty Terhune, vice president; and Tammy Rice, secretary/treasurer.Area residents attending the reunion were: Robert York, and Joe and Sarah York, all of Garden City; Archie and Peggy Cooley, Healy; Steve, Tammy and Callan Rice, Scott City; Melinda, Zane and Chance Grothusen, also of Scott City.Dighton residents who attended the event were: Bill and Jo Burnett; Lenny, Marcelle and Lance Burnett; Darcy and Miranda Woodham; Shane, Tonia, Leighton, Kyle, Sheldon and Tosha Root; Chris Terhune and Michelle Caprez; Sarah Fuller, Lillie Heath; Walter and Lottie Horn; Courtney and Morgan Klitzke; Tony and BettyTerhune; and Calvin and Dora Mae Bowman.
