The New School Building*.The board of school trustees made a good selection when they decided to accept the plans of A. W. Boggs for the new school building. It will be entirely modern in architecture. The building will front to the north and south, both facades being exactly similar. The front steps lead up to a veranda over which the . second . story projects being supported by three stone arches resting on heavy columns with carved capitals. At each end of the veranda the building projects even with the outer edge of the veranda. A large stone arch extends nearly across the lower story of each of these projections spanning the windows under it. A cupula or belfry rises from the center of the roof and a neat cresting runs along the ridge. v .Lack of sufficient space precludes a full description of the exterior of the buildingWtwehope to have a cut of it soonLhictr will present its beauties more clearly than words.Inside the building is most conveniently arranged. . A 16-foot hallway runs through it, the stairs which are in the center having a landing part way up. On the first floor are four school rooms each 23x32 feet. These can be thrown into two large rooms , by means of sliding doors. Connected with each school room is a class room 16x15 and a cloak room 8x15 which also contains a lavatory. On the second floor are four more school rooms similar to those on the first floor. Each room will accommodate 116 pupils. There are only two cloak rooms and two class rooms on this floor, the rest of the space being occupied with a library 16x24 and an audience room 28^x464. The - building is most* conveniently arranged throughout. It is 68 feet wide and 96 feet long. The height of the first‘story is 16 feet and of the second 15 feet. The cost is estimated at $16y000 exclusive of furniture.
