Hut we all know typographical and other errors will often accur.On the 10th inst., I, with 7 others, left Bluffton for Magnolia Springs, in Sumter county. We went via Whitney. Cordray,s Mill, Dover, and Dawson, and arrived atoui destination about four o’clock, p. in., Monday.A great many arc summering at Sumter’s Saratoga.The 11th was a beautiful day, and it seemed that all the visitors and local residents, with their transient boarders were out in their best dresses, most captivating smiles, pleasant mien, and good humor generally.Besides forming many new acquaintances of both sexes, I was felicitous at meeting Misses Ida, Polly, and Itosa Nelms, Ida L., Emma and “Tugga” G., Lulah C., and other local residents, and Miss L. II. of Albany.The snrinjjrs arc ten miles west of Ameri-1 •cus. The waiter is strongly impregnated witli sulphur and other minerals. The buildings are seriously dilapidated. With a small amount said place could be made a much more fashionable resort.While spending three months of last summer at the above springs, I met many residents of Sumter county. I’ve studied the various talents, dispositions, traits and general characters of Sumter’s citizens, and can, with pleasure, and without fear of successful contradiction, say, in many praiseworthy respects, they can’t be excelled. Said people are fortunate in having in their midst Col. 0. W.
