Enjoying a few days atThe Shafransky’s have had a busy and exciting summer. Anton and Helen along with Gerry and Raisa Davies of Winnipeg motored to Gibsons, BC in June where they saw their niece Dana Shafransky graduate from high school. Along the way back they visited with Helen’s sister Liz and Van Job in Bellingham, Washington and with their son Bill and Chela Shafransky in Calgary. From there they went to Hinton, AB where they visited Lome and Katie Jasper before returning home. In mid July the Shafranskys attended the 40th wedding anniversary of Lois and Bob Buschau of Killarney. Also in mid July Sharon, Gord and Kelly Rankmore of Carberry were Helen and Anton’s guests and attended the Maliteare-Berthaudin wedding on July 14. On Aug. 5 John and Olga (Syko) Dmytriw of Kelowna were theircompany.Ted, Barb and Amanda Myslichuk visited at Arlene and Rocky Racette’s home in* / •: j • •«IrmaCorrespondent* .. y•x.-X-vMANORVisiting Mary Cockerill was her son Bernhard and wife Kathy and grandsonGibbons, AB for a weekend and attended the wedding of Dwayne and Selena Barabe in Edmonton that July 28. Dwayne is the son of the former Arlene and Garry Barabe. They spent time with Dorothy Wells of Morgan Hill, California who also attended the wedding and whom they had not seen for some time.Alanna Styba recently took her sister Heather to Olds, AB where Heather has enrolled in Commercial Floristry at Olds College. We wish her success in this course.On Aug. 9 I was pleased to have Wayne and Mildred (Jacob) Bedard of Selkirk and Muriel Lowe of Roblin as afternoon guests.Mildred, Muriel and I had attended TeachersCollege together way back when.Sunday, Aug. 12 was a beautiful day - too pleasant for those who make hay to attend the Merridale Picnic.However the smaller than usual crowd enjoyed an afternoon of races, horseshoes and baseball. The children especially had a good time. Winners on the A side were: Lloyd McKinney and Violet Styba defeating Scott Liske and Cory McKay.
