Austin Students in Orientation GroupsTwo Austin students were elected j chairmen of New Student Orienta-; tion groups at the University of; Minnesota.»They are Ronald McCay, son of I Mr. Curtis McCay, Rt. 5. and Gene j Lohman, son of Mrs. Alice Loh-! man, 602 S. Seventh.fThe two-day orientation included special aptitude testing, individual course planning conferences, an introduction to the college in which the student registered and various group activities designed to acquaint the new student with campus life. The program, which insures individual attention to each student in his introduction to University life, involves all faculties and departments of the Universitvcon-cerned with freshmen and is coordinated by the office of the aeanof students. # \The groups consist of about\20 new students who plan to start tncir studies at the University Sept. ». An outstanding upper-classm}n guided them during their two-day visit to the campus.As chairman of their groups, Ronald and Gene will also participate in one of five freshmen camps for new students, Sept. 19-21, and the University’s annual Welcome Week, Sept. 21-28.
