Annual Dance of Tama Indiana Proves Big Financial Succeaa.Special to Tlme*-Itepublican.Tama. Aug. 21.—The annual powwow of the Sac and Fox Indians was celebrated at the camp west of Tama. Friday to Sunday. Good crowds were present the first two days but it remained for Sunday to bring the multitude. Over a thousand cars were on the ground Sunday and the dance grew In fervor and perspiration in true ratio with the gate receipts. The success of these annual dances from the standpoint of crowd bringers should teach even an Indian that he could pull off other stunts during the yea? that would get the ready money of the automobillst who is always looking for an excuse to go some place. Located as the camps are. on the Lincoln Highway. many a dollar could be earned by the redskins if they would fix up a suitable place for receiving visitors as they pass. The only complaint heard from the thousands who came to Tama for this exhibition was .regarding the terrible condition of the city streets. Many of the principal streets have not been dragged since the rain of last Monday and those that were dragged were worked from a day to three days too late to bo effective. The neglect of proper dragging of our city streets is a lasting disgrace to our city council and especially to the man who controls every action of the council.
