New Shows and Rides FeaturetLarge Tidwell CarnivalBoasting 25 shows and rides, the T. J. Tidwell shows and carnival which begin a week's engagement Monday at the fair grounds in connection with the Allen county fair, is said to be one of”the largest q^r-nivals in the southwest.Included this year are several new shows and riding devices never before exhibited in this territory. The Octopus, an amusement ride named after the sea animal, takes its passengers horizontally as well as vertically and yet never travels the same path twice, a new idea in carnival equipment. The Ridee-O which travels 90 miles an hour around its 50-foot circle, is considered the fastest device manufactured.The lion and tiger show featuring Captaih Leo Sifts, is new to the midway this year as is the circus side show which features Chandu, famous radio magician.The monkey circus, with the only twin-born pair of monkeys in America, also may be seen on the midway. Mom,” the mother of the twin monkeys, created a sensation when she presented America its first monkey twins four weeks ago in Oklahoma City.The free act featured by the Tidwell show thjts year is Daredevil Daniels, who performs acrobatic feats atop his 150-foot-high pole which sways in the air, Daniels uses no life net or safety device of any kind.T. J. Tidwell, last year, voted “America’s Greatest Showman” by the American Carnival league, will ylslt Iola personally with his shows a3h will spend the week in Iola with the 250 people who comprisfe the personnel 4 'More than 40 trucks and a host of private cars and busses make up the show's travel equipment.The carnival opens at 6 o’clock Monday night and will show every day and night through the duration of the fair, including Saturday night
