The young lady went to get a few clams for the chickens and was so fortunate as to find a fine pearl in one,of them. It is the most valuable pearl ever fished in this vicinity and the find will no doubt give the spur to-the clamming industry which has been lagging recently, as so few pearls have, been secured and the shells do not seem to furnish a dependable margin Of profit./ Consequently few fishers arc engaged in the work this year and those few are more desirous of securing the benefits of the fresh air and healthy exercise than lucrative wages.ThA nrrif'T* of the. r*nthnhV.
