MEETING IN INTERESTS OF WOMEN SUFFRAGEMember8 of the Local Council of Women, as well as representatives of the affiliated societies, met Monday evening at the Y. M. C. A. Mrs. Donald McEwec presiding. The chief subject for dij* ussion was the promise of the government with regard to the enfranchisement of women in Manitoba, and those present felt that the time had already come when active interest should he taken in connection with the promise. As canvassing papers have been received in the city from Winnipeg, the meeting discussed the first steps to be taken, a committee being nominated to act in the matter.
