Hartford City Caae.Recently trouble occurred near Hartford City over a brutal assault said to havebeen made upon a boy by two colored men. The fact that the boy who toldthe story of the brutal treatment could not clearly describe his alleged assailants and told conflicting stories did not deter the organisation of a mob. •The town was searched, and the county Jail was visited and Inspected, the im-. pressior. prevailing that the negroes were under arrest and in the sheriff's * crustody. Governor Durbin has been in-fprmed that the boy's story is now believed to have been a myth and that there was no foundation in fact for thestory of the assault.- «
