Second City, Chicago’s only coffee-house night club, closes for two weeks on Monday so the cast, vacation-less for 36 straight weeks, can get a much-needed rest. The club’s outdoor garden will remain open. . . . Enjoyed lunch recently at Mr. and Mrs. Connie Buzanis’ Pot V Pan. Joining us was frequent guest, Ben Mages, of the sporting goods clan. Ben tells us lie’s got a new gadget he’s transformed from a golf cart, lie’s turned them into industrial carts and local factories are gobbling them up as fast as Ben turns them out — since the price is ridiculously low. It can go 12 miles per hour, can be used for hauling or for personnel (two in front and two in back), has reverse speed of 7 miles per hour and operates on six 6-volt batteries. . . . Bud Anderson at Andy Ander-• 7son’s Steak House, 3946 Chicago, lias come up with a gastronomical click, ( ailed the “Gee Whiz” Special it consists of a half chicken with salad, spaghetti and coffee — all for $1.50. Belinda Browne, 19-year-old daughter of the Gaslight Club’s Burton Browne will start a three-year dress designing course at the Parson School of Art in New York on Sept. 14. She’s just back from England where she attended the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London.
