The other two men are being sought.Inquiry at Brookston elicited the information that Dr. Kelly and his family had leu there last week on an automobile trip to Buffalo, N. Y. Before leaving he had spoken about investing some money in automobile stock at Detroit, but was urged not to make such an investment. -None of his friends in Brookston today had learned about the Detroit affair until informed by The Courier and they expressed great surprise. At the Farmers' bank in Brookston, where he does business, doubt was expressed as to whether the story could be true. Dr. Kelly is the owner of much valuable land and in addition to being a land owner is regarded as a shrewd business man. His friends say they had never heard of him betting on a horse race. In Lafayette, Dr. Kelly does .business writh the City National bank and nothing could be learned tnere concerning the Detroit matter. The bank officials said they did not think that Dr. Kelly had been swindled in the manner referred to.
