DEATH OF MRS. S. B. CHAPMAN.Was Well-Known in Burlington and Prominent in Church Work.Death came to relieve the sufferings of Mrs. S. B. Chapman at 12:30 o’clock this morning. Mrs. Chapman was well known in Burlington and loved by many close friends. She was prominent in church work, and an active member of a number of church and charitable societies.Mrs. Chapman lived almost all her life in Burlington. Her maiden name was Annette Bunch. She was born in this city Feb. 1, 1802. For many years she taught in the primary department of the public schools of Burlington. She was loved by the children, and always exerted a great deal of influence over their lives.At the early age of 12 years she began to play the organ at the Walnut Street Baptist church, and ever since that time she has been engaged, almost steadily, in active church work. For many years she was leader of the choir in the First Baptist church, and during the past three years she has been organist at that church. A little more than three years ago Miss Burtch became the bride of Mr. S. B. Chapman, and they have lived happily together since that time on Prospect Hill. Mrs. Chapman leaves a bereaved husband and a baby boy, who was only born about seven weeks ago.The funeral services will be held at the First Baptist church at three o’clock tomorrow afternoon. The body will be at the church from 2 o’clock, and friends who so desired may view the remains there between 2 and 3. At the funeral services Mr. C. C. Clark will sing; also Miss Morgan and a ladies’ quartet. The burial will be at Aspen Grove cemetery.
