John Bryant and other friends in thisMiss Jean Cortenas was given a pleasant surprise Monday evening at her home, the occasion being her 18th birthday. Miss Cortenas who had been spending the evening with friends, returned home at eight o’clock, the orchestra began playing and the surprise was complete. About twenty-five people of the younger set were present. The evening was spent in music and games. After a hilarious time ice cream and cake were served by Mrs. Thena Gooden, assisted by Misses Madge Bryant and Oliva Williams.
