Gleason brought the attention of the board to the fact that despite all the care takento get the specifications right on Sixth street, it had been found that unless something was done, the putting in of curb on the return of the alleys on East Sixth street would necessitate the re-moval of some fine peppers. These trees were planted nineteen yelars ago, and the suggestion was made that if possible to arrange it, the curbs be built about two feet short of the trees.A. C. Wood also put in a plea for the trees, stating that recently he had seen an object lesson in another locality in .the matter of easing trees, when a num-Ter of sycamores had been left in ,the . gutter.W. AVe are not acquainted there and only go when we are compelled to go. We do most of our trading in Rincon, but when we want to get something extra we go to Pomona. This was the result of a called meeting of the Merchants and Manufacturers’ Association last night at the association rooms.
