The show, termed J the society's most successful In *years, attracted so many people1that its closing time was extended from 8 o’clock to 8:30. *The Middletown 4-H All-American Club won the silver medal for 4-H exhibits. In the Newport County garden club still life contest, the Seaside Garden Club (Mrs. John T. Sheehan, president, exhibitor) won first place; Portsmouth Garden Club (Mrs. B. Earl Anthony) second, and Jamestown's Quononquit Garden Club (Mrs. A. Leroy Greason), third.* Mrs. Edith Matthews received a certificate of culture for a Japanese grape ivy.
