Dow Pettijohn, 87-years-old, the first person born at Palos Park, died recently at Oak Forest. He was the son of George and Hannah Pettijohn, two of the earliest pioneers in this entire part of the country. The Pettijohns settled on what is now 123rd street, near 96th avenue, before the Hlackhawk war. In the enactment of a pageant in Palos hills a few years ago, the son Dow, by virtue of the fact that his entire life had been interwoven in the community, was the central figure, representing the driver of a prairie schooner in the historicalreview.
