A KANSAS DEMOCRATi He Writes a Few Lines on Politics,Crops and GasIHam Betson of Bartlett, Kan. a former well known resident of this township in remitting a renewal of his subscription to the Old Reliable, gives a few items of news, one of which will be consoling to our democratic readers, but we would not advise them to bet any money on Kansas going democratic by one vote.Here is what he says:“Well, Brent, the democrats expect to carry Kansas by 60,000 plurality next presidential election with Billy Bryan at the head of the ticket. Kansas is going to have the largest corn crop this year she ever had. We had a fine wheat and oats crop this year. Could not ask for a beter one. We are having natural gas in our town. Have it right in our home. We have sunk seven wells and have struck only one dry one. On our place we have struck an oil well which flows 40 barrels a day. We have two oil wells ou^ } of the seven.
