Seeing Bears In Tea Grounds.Chicago Inter Ocean.East Tawas, Mich., Aug. 3.—JohnSims, of this village, a great hunter, hadarranged on Monday for a day’s hshing onTawas lake, with a triend, and while at thebreakfast table bis wife, after having drankher tea, looked at the tea grounds in the cupand told her husbadd they would kill a bear during the day, to which remark he laughingly replied: “Quit your nonsense or I’ll knock the cup out of your hand We’re going hshiug, not hunting.”Ju^t above John Green’s barn on TawasLake, about a mile from this village, they made their boat fast a short distance from the shore, and had been fishing but a short time when John Sims’companion said:“Jack, w hat is that coming down to the bank?” Sims looked around and saw a bear coming to tne water, and took his ride, a Martine 40.60, and as the bear was getting over a log at the water’s edge he fired, the ball entering the bear’s head above the eye, causing almost instant death. The bear weighed over one hundred pounds. Mr. Sims places implicit confidence in his wife’s fortune telling abilities by the aid of tea grounds; says she has often told him when going deer h nting how many he wouldget, and it has always proved correct
