Hole-Ih-One Contest To Aid Greene DriveThe Greene County Unit of the American Cancer Society is rapidly nearing its goal vof $8,500 in . ‘ the 1962 Cancer Cnisaite and to •help assure success the Campaign Committee has scheduled Hole-* In-OneM Contests to be held at .various golf clubs in the County on Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 18and 19.Farmers who have received approval of projects to be carried cut under the 1962 Agricultural Conservation Program were reminded today that they must report performance of the approved practice* in order to qualify For cost-shave assistance.Max Springer, Chairman of the Fayette County Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Committee,-points out that new” participants, particularly — who have not been .doing conservation work on this land in recent years, may overlook the fact that ACP cost-share asistance is not automatic just because the work was approved Earlier in the year. Performance of the practice must be completed and reported to t h e Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service County Office .by the date shown on the notice of approval.If a farmer receives approval for a practice and then finds that 'he is unable to carry it out. hei. 11 id.- . .. _Participating courses are: Greene County Country Club, Car-michaels Golf Club.* Sock-Away Driving Range, Rohanna's Golf Cburse and Barbe’s Driving Range.The price for each drive has been set at 25 cents with proceeds to be distributed equally between (he contest winners and the Cancer Crusade Fund.Three prizes will be given at eah course, with a bonus prize at each course of one case of Coca Cola each month for a year to the first person making a hole* in-one. This bonus prize is being contributed by Robert Lee of the Coca Cola Bottling Co. in Wayiiesburg.The contest at the Country Club will be in charge of Albert R. Hood, Superintendent of Duquesne Light Co/s-Warwick Mines at Greensboro.Harry Anderspn, Waynesburg' Postmaster, has volunteered to s conduct the contest at RohnannaV Golf Course; Mrs. Frances Barhe, A Crusade Worker, will be chairman at (he Barhe Driving Range near Greensboro, and Bill Gabler, County Crusade Chairman, will be at the Carmichaels Golf Ctub.
