SEEK CUSTODYOF BOY ABE 9HABEAS C'ORPrS PROCEEDINGS J’JJiEl) IX CIRCUIT COURTTODAYHabeas Corpus proceedings were filed in the Sullivan circuit court Thursday morning by Maurice Baty and his wife Pearl May Baty, of Washington, Ind. against Robert and Mary E. Farnham of Cass, asking possession of nine-year-old Robert Baty, a nephew of the plaintiffs and the grandson of th* defendant.During the February term of the circuit court Maurice and Pearl May Baty were granted the custody of theichild’s father, mother and his broth-.boy, Robert Bady on adoption. The brothers and sister*, died during the influenza epidemic last fall and the grandparents took the boy into their; home. IThey fought the case desiring to. adopt the child themselves. They’ refused to give up the boy to the Batys and the Habeas corpus proceedings just filed asks that they bs,/given the custody of the child immediately, having been legally given the authority to adopt him. W. R. Nesbit, and Hunt and Gambill represent the plaintiffs, Maurice and Pearl May Baty.
