Audience Causes DismayP.O. Box 185 Sea Bright, N.J.To the Editor:On Tuesday evening, Aug. 6, it was our pleasure to experience one of the more exceptional performances at the Garden State Arts Center. The show starred Andy Williams, who was as he always is, superb. Peter Nero, accompanied by bass and drums, was electrifying. The Osmond Brothers presented an array of talent which one found difficult to believe came from one family. In sum, the entire show provided excellent entertainment. Our shock and dismay here is with the conduct of the immature, disrespectful, culturally lacking, and totally undeserving majority of the audience which found it necessary to make its exit during Mr. Williams’ final number. We find it difficult to believe that after such a tremendous show, these people could not show the performer the courtesy of remaining in their seats for the finish of the show. We have learned to appreciate the closing of a show as one of the finer moments of any performance. These few minutes allow the patron to recap all of the feelings that he experienced throughout the performance and evenmore, to give him the opportunity to offer his thanks for a wonderful evening. We would like to thank Mr. Louis Tonti and the Parkway Authority for bringing such splendid entertainment to Monmouth County. We would like to publicly thank Mr. Williams for making our evening one of the best ever.We are thoroughly ashamed of the disgraceful performance put on by an audience that was totally lacking in culture and courtesy.Sincerely,
