Fair Wagon Train Is PlannedGRAYS STATION - The sound oi “wagon hQ*“ will be heard in this area Saturday morning.The Appalachian Fair Assn. and Gray Riding Club is sponsoring a two-day wagon train in connection with the Washington County Fair next weekend.The train will assemble at Grays Station Fairgrounds on Friday night to make prepara-Hons for the two-day journey. Camp wili be made at the fairgrounds and participants will spend the night there.According to Mack Gilliam* scout for the train, about 20 Old-West style covered wagons are expected and approximately 75-100 horseback riders. Norubber tires will be permitted on the wagons.Tbe wagon train will leave the fairgrounds, at 9 a.m. Saturday and proceed along a defined route to the Sulphur Springs Community to make camp For Saturday night.Dancing, wagon train style, will be the order of the night. Western style music mil accompany round and square dances.The train will leave Sulphur Springs early Sunday morning and travel hack to the fairgrounds. The riders will .dissemble late Sunday afternoon.Wagon master for the trip will be Guy Barron of Jonesboro and assistant will be Scott Byrd, also of Joneshoco. Scouts will be, Mack Gilliam, Gale City, Va.; Roger Hale, Jonesboro; Jim Mohlar, Kingsport and David Shipley, Gate City.Each person on the train must furnish all of his suppliesMayor Duncan Seeks Re-ElectioniKNOXVILLE (UPI) - Mayor John Duncan of Knoxville announced his formal candidacy for re-election to another four yearand obey the commands given by the officials of the train. AU riders must assume full responsibility for themselves and all minors must be accompanied by responsible persons.Registration at Sullivan High School Wednesday will be for students who plan to attend Sullivan and have not registered previously, Lewis I. Chase, principal, said today.Students who have not attended Sullivan before should register between 9 a.m. and noon.
