She taught for 'five years in the rural schools of Sanborn and Jerauld Counties and has had work experience In the office -f the Jerauld County treasurer. Her son, Keith, will attend Senior High School, and her daughter, Lfl-as, will attend Junior High School. Her teaching assignment will be in as sixth grade teacher in Eugene Field Elementary School.Myrtle G, Dubro was graduated from high school at Huron and has completed three years of college training—the first year at Wessing-ton Springs Junior College and two years at General Beadle- State Teachers, College, Madison. Sheholds the two-year diploma and* the South Dakota state certificate. She has taught in Kingsbury and Sanborn Counties. The horse showmanship trophy has been revived this year after a lapse of a few years. The roving trophy is donated by Leader Hardware.It, as are all trophies, Is a traveling trophy. A 4-H’er must • have won It three times in order to retain permanent possession. Thus, It Is possible that a 4-H’er showing a red ribbon or white ribbon animal could win the showmanship trophy in each class.Late this fail, the Mitchell Kiwan-is Club will award plaques to the outstanding boy and girl 4-H’ers in Davison County. These two outstanding individuals are chosen on the basis of their overall records. Their records of accomplishment during Achievement Days are among the most important considerations in selecting the two. Contestant must be a junior or senior in high school to be eligible for this award.Smith - Patton Memorial Award: Presented by the Mitchell National Bank this year will be used for 4-H demonstration awards. Three a-warils are given to the top three demonstrations in home economics and agriculture. First award in each division is a pen and pencil set: second award, a fountain pen, and the third award, a pencil.The Smith • Patton award is “an annual award made to continue the great interest in the future of agriculture in Davison County shown by William -F.' Smith and M. F. Patton, former presidents of the Mitchell National Bank. To qualify for this award there must be at least six demonstrations in each division and demonstrations must be worthy of the award.”Herdsmanship rosettes will be given to those clubs whose stalls, livestock and their attendants present the best appearance during the two • day show.
