T.issie proved themselves splendid entertainers, and ideal- barbecuers of neats when they' entertained with a big barbecue in the Poole pasture just beyond Lissie Tuesday evening. .• Circular tables had been erected.on the grounds for the occasion and people began gathering early In the evening, and serving the crowd was begun .-between 6 and 7 o’cloek and it wag 8:30 when all had finished the raeai of barbecued meats, breud, pickles, coffee and lemon' ade and the speaking 5vag begun.Judge Odom Johnston of - Nottawa acted, a# master of ceremonies and In-trod need th'e speakers of the evening. Kev. R, Paine of Floresville, formerly pastor of the Eagle Xake Methodist church, led the opening prayer which was followed by an addresi of about 4o minutes by Rev. A. Inman Townsley of Columbus after which Rev. J. C. Young of Rock iBland made a talk-of about fifteen minutes. Rev. Mr, In-giam, Ilaptist pastor at Sun Marcos, was next introduced and made n abort talk.There were fourteen head of cattle barbecued for the occasion and plenty of meat left over.
