A Delightful Social.Mrs. William Martin and Mrs. Henry Seither gave a delightful fete last evening at the beautiful home of Mrs. Martin, on Wayne street, for the benefit of the German M. K.church.The ladies had arranged to serve refreshments on the lawn, but the weather not being conducive to outdoor festivities the dainty collation was served from handsomely appointed tables in the dining room. Misses Dorider, Mettler, Ida Brown, Manda Geiger assisting in serving.A fine musical program was rendered. Brilliant piano solos were played by Miss Ella Powell, Miss Gertrude Hoffman and Miss Byrde Geiger, while Miss Rife, whose beautiful voice is a favorite with the Defiance public, sang, and Miss Anna Kress and Otto Kress sang a beautiful duet. The proceeds amountedto nearly $20.00.
