The Opera House was on the 3CCond floor vrith a separate entrance facing Main street. Many of the fine vflnstrels were held hero. Schools gave their plays here end held their Commencement exercises Ji tlic Opera House. Rupert Hughes, the renowned playwright and author wrote ikis first play while a student at th6 St. Charles College in 18RC and gave th« play at the Opera House, llis brother, Howard R. Hughes, also a student at the same school had the loading role in this pL\y. Today. this hnfWing is occupied by the Famous Apparel Store.
