After high school, he attendedthe University of Texas wherehe worked toward a business administration degree.Leaving the University, he entered the automobile business with his father after which he worked in Austin in a magne-USE COMMON SENSE TO TAKE OFF FATDon’t say it's your thyroid while reaching for the box of chocolates.sium plant and for an oil company in Houston.Being u storekeeper in Uncle Sam's navy took the next year in Joe’s life and when discharged, he held the rank of 3/C Pettyofficer.After the navy, he left his native Texas for a short stay inOklahoma where he was in the real estate and cattle business.Joe is now an employee of the Lone Star Gas Company as asalesman where he went to workin February of 1951.His wife, the former Margie Hicks of Georgetown, is now employed by Wilson Fox. The Casey’s have 2 children, Barbara Jo who is eight and in the fourth grade at Twelfth Street school and Joe Jr., who is two.Joe is a member of the Lions Club and he and his family, are members of the First Baptist Church.When asked for a closing comment during the interview Wednesday, Joe made a very true statement: This is going to be the best rodeo we’ve ever had in Taylor.”
