The Herdlami township farm bu-n'uu met at the school house 011 Thursday evening of last week. The f hvenvHle band came down and ur;jve a title concert. This is a real live bunch of hoys who have go:ten together u line little hand and each and every one do remarkably well.Everyone present certainly did enjoy the music very much and Greenville may well feel proud to have such a nice band. Let the good work gon on boys. The rest of the program consisted of a short talk by Mr. Shorts of Garlleld township on Ship Subsidy. He gave what in* formation he could and told what was proposed to do. A vote was cast and it did not seem to meet with very much approval In thiscommunity. Mr. Martin gave a short talk also Mr. S. E. Ross told his view of what the Ship Subsidy means. These were all very Inter* outing and those who heard it had a much better idea of this problem than before. Arthur Hermstead acted as secretary in the absence of Mrs. A, C. Vail. The subject of *1 joint picnic between Garlleld and Herdland townships was threshed out by tho committees and it was decided that it will be held at the George Grieve grove near Webb 011 August 22. If the weather will permit there will undoubtedly be a largo crowd ami there will be a speaker and various sports to amuse the people. Lot us join hands to make this a “Never to he forgotten day/’ Mr. Martin showed several reels of film In pictures which were very good indeen. After all wereover a nice lunch was served to all.
