To In Fulton's 'GigiJean-Pierre Aumont, flown in directly from Paris, will star in “Gigi,11 the musical comedy hit of the 1973 Broadway season at the Canal Fulton Summer Arena opening August 6, and running through August 18.This topsy-tufVy Cinderella tale with a French twist is the Lerner and Loewe stage adaptation of their multi-Oscar winning movie of 1958. Derrived from one of the best known novels of the illustrious French author Colette, “Gigi” is the story of a young girl who has been trained from childhood to catch a man — but not matrimonially, as she is the daughter of a long line of “grand eoeottes” who are not the marrying kind.The joke is on them when to their horror, these good ladies who have taken such care to bring their charge up “right,” -find that she would rather be a rich man’s wife than his mistress.t*MR. AUMONT, famed international actor, will be portraying the role of Honre. He has made over 60 French films, most recently, “The Seven Deadly Sms*” “A Horse Without aHead,” and “Blind Man’s Bluff.” He has given deft, performances on our television screens in “Arms and the Man,” “Crime and Punishment,” and “The Sound of Silence.” Mr. Au-mont’s movie, “Day for Night,” directed by Francois Truffant was an oscar award winner for best foreign film.Charles Abbott from New York, will direct “Gigi” and Sal-ii Parker will marshall all the musical elements of the production. “Gigi” is one show you won’t want to miss, with settings reminiscent of the Toulouse-Lautrec vision of turn-of*the-#century Paris and costumes to match.
