Outing Club Once Leading Social Organization In Indiana‘'One of the leading social organizations in Indiana” is the manner in which the 1916 edition of the Indiana Progress described the Indiana Outing Club.Reproduced here from that Centennial Edition of the Progress are 95 of the club members from that period.The club was formed in 1895 with seven charter members:Dr. Edwin K. Wood, Frank E. Moorhead, J. Herbert Russell, Harry Earhart. Dr. John B'ral-lier, Dr. James Hammers and Newton Miller.Purpose of the club was to promote social activities among the membership, which reached more than 100.In the beginning, meeting rooms for the club were at the site of Henry Halls. Laterthe group met in the Jack Building at the comer of Philadelphia and Seventh streets.
