Spirituals to Feature “Snow and Ice” Service• • . ■;■ .*Unique Program Being Presented in Emery Auditorium.The Religion of Snow end Ice. That is the title given to an elaborate religious service that will be presented in Emery Auditorium, Sunday at Cli p, m., by the Rev. Arthur D. Williams, pastor, and a mixed chorus of flfty-flve voiced oi lit Zion (Negro) Methodist Church, Walnut Hills.Pageantry, depicting “the wonders of nature and the mercies of God, will be interspersed by the singing of Negro spirituals, N. W. Ryder, organist and choir director in the Mt. Zion church, who years ago was a member of the famous nske Jubilee Singers’ group, will be h» charge of the music.The group of spirituals to be sung will include “Wade id the Water,• Roll, Jordan. Roll, The Sliver Trumpet. My Soul Is a Witness for My Lord.” Though Your Sins Be As Scarlet and Wash Me Whiter Than Snow. Most of the singing will be without instrumental accompaniment.More than 30.000 pounds of ice will be Used upon the stage in the presentation of the snow and ice pageantry. There will be two large candlesticks carved from ice, each weighing 500 pounds; a flower basket, weighing 1,000 pounds, to addition, there will be crosses, a crystal throne and an altar, ail carved from ice. 8peclal lighting I equipment will be used to produce varied color effects with the ice.
