Delegation Praise Turkey and Chicken Farms—Inspect Allied IndustriesRockingham chicken and turkey farms “caught the eye” of a delegation of Caroline county, Md., poultry farmers, headed by W. H. Evans, Caroline county farm agent, and W. H. Rice, poultry specialist of the University of Maryland, College Park, Md., who spent a day inspecting poultry methods in this county.The turkey flocks of Mrs. G. Luther Miller’s “Wiseland Farm,” and W. L. Yancey in the Mountain Valley section were praised by the visitors.There were thirty-two in the party. They arrived in Rockingham Wednesday afternoon and were met by County Agent S. M. Cox. Mr. Cox escorted them to the poultry farms of Edgar Cline and J H. Alger, near Broadway. From there they went to the Mountain Valley to study how Mrs. Miller and “Bill” Yancey are so successful with turkeys, Yesterday was spent in an inspection of the Massanutten Farm Hatcheries, the City Produce Ex-change and the Shenandoah Manufacturing Co. plants.Those In the party included County Agent Evans, Poultry Specialist Rice, Mr. and Mrs, John Gehrig, Mr. and Mrs. Ed. Sehwick, Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Nickels; Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Kibier, Mr. tod Mds. \V. D. Pickering, Mr. and Mrs. H, Eley, Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Quillen, Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Holsinger, Harry Silvester, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Gough, J. Frank Ledum, F. Jackson, Quantin Engle, Victor Dean, Emory Kinney, Mrs. Emma Rambo, Mr. and Mrs. W. F. Gordon, Owen Howard, Mrs. George Shaffer, Miss Mabel Ely.The delegation returned to Caroline county, Md., yesterday by the way of Washington and Annapolis. o
