A Pleasant Evening.•Last Thursday evening the ladies of Auiaa Lodge 1). of R., gave a receptionand supper to the officer* of the NarrowGauge, a ad their wives and sisters or ©ext friends, ia ease they didn't have wives or sisters. . It was an enjoyable event aad all present seemed to be de delighted. The members of the society and their invited guests aggregating about one hundred ladies and gentlemen met at the pleasant Lodge Hall • at 81o clock. About nine o'clock order wascalled and Miss Fannie Higginbothamdelivered a very happy address of welcome, which was acknowledged and re-» j -ponded to by Col. Yeoman in good style. The Colonel, his acknowledged gallantry never forsaking him. in closing proposed the toast. The Ladies/*and called on Hr. Richardson to respond.To say that the Doc tor excelled him selfwould be drawing it mildly. A railroadtoast was proposed and President McCoy, of Rensselaer called upon to respond. The President felt too good to talk and so he substituted an avalanch of jolly smiles. After the President’s effort the party repaired to Holt A Rinehart s Hall where refreshments were served to the seem tug satisfaction of all. Supper over, the party returned to the Lodge Hall where au hour or so wasspent tu social pastime which was seasoned with good music. Hoad Master, Lack Smith, General Freightand Passenger Agent, and the residentdirectors. Lieut. (%le. of the V. S. A.was also present.
