Amarillo Blvd.Officers from/as far away as Florida, Maryland, California and Oregon were here when the meeting got under way withgreeting by Police Chief Lee Spradlin and Potter County Commissioner Thad Anslev.Only one workshop —Emergency Procedures” — was to be held today, with the session to begin at 1:30 o.rtLSgt. . Max Davidson of theSacramento County, Calif., sheriff’s office, was to head thediscussionThis morning's schedule included registration, greetingsfrom city officials and a -luncheonTwelve workshops will have been held when the seminar closes Saturday afternoon.Speakers will include Robin Green, Amarillo attorney for the American Civil Liberties Union; Kerry Knorpp, Potter County attorney; Mary Durdett of the Texas penitentiary staff;Lewis C Rigler, Texas Rangerfrom Gainesville; Dave Melton,chief jailer of Ocala, Fla., and Rufe Jordan, Gray County sheriff from Pampa.Workshop topics will include: standards for local jails, remodeling jails, legal decisions affectings jails,preparing inmates for release, and education for inmates.Social activities will include a visit to Palo Duro Canyon to see the musical “Texas,” a Western dance and a tour of the Potter County correctional unit at the old Amarillo Air Base
