Corpe, 39, and his wife Rose, 35, were on a 130-mile flight from Peace River to Red Earth when their plane plunged to the ground 70 miles north of Lesser Slave Lake.The couple are survived by their three children, two boys aged nine and four years, and a 13-year-old daughter.Mr. Corpe, an employee of Union Oil Company in Calgary, had been working out of a base camp at Red Earth but was not on company business at the time of the crash.The wreck was first spotted by towermen. It was a replica of Fort Fork sponsored by the Peace River Kinsmen Club.The most original class award went to the Women Institute of Peace River who displayed a gaily decorated float with a cottageSC6D6*Prizes for the two best clowns went to Cliff Green who walked a goat along the street and Mr. Travols who drew laughter with his ambitious fat circus clown act.The children were not forgotten in the parade. Young Katie Holmes walked off with first prize for the girl’s best decorated bicycle. Placing second was Rosemary Gouthier.The boy’s best decorated bicycle was displayed by David Gouthier with* Brian LeClaire placing second.RCMP officers dressed in scarlet uniforms led the session. The Peace River Rotary band and majorettes and five convertibles carrying Mayor Thor For-seth and other smiling dignitaries took part.
