Fow Wow Coming..Iowa’s own Indian tribe, the Mes-quakies of the Tama reservation, are practicing their shrill whoops and brushing up their beaded and feathered costumes. The Tama Indians are getting ready for their 28th annualpow wow, one of Iowa’s most interesting and popular annual events. A complete Indian village will be set up for the show and Mesquakie farmers will display their produce at their own fair in addition to the colorful Indian dances and ceremonials. Two new features are on the programs for this year, an Indian wedding and a pageant of the life of Hiawatha.
