Kansas CowboyTop in Radeo at HendersonRecord crowds again turned out for the 37th annual Henderson Firemen’s Rodeo which gave three performances last Friday, Saturday and Sunday.Many in the big group of fans noted with sadness that this would be the last produced by Art Fritcher who had announced earlier that he was retiring at the end of the present season.But he put on a great show for his final appearance in his home area. On the opening night only a couple of cowboys were able to finish their time on the broncs. Bluffs.Mrs. Washburn Rites ThursdayFinal rites will be held Thursday, Aug. 1, at 2 p.m. in the Wesley Chapel church for Mrs. Henry (Alice T.) Washburn, of north of Hastings, whose death occurred Monday at the Hamburg hospital.These will be conducted by Rev. David Nolteand Rev. Frank Johnke, and interment will be in the Emerson cemetery with Mansfield Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.The body may be viewed until 10 p.m. July 31 at Mansfield Funeral Home.Mrs. Washburn was a life-long resident of this area. She is survived by her husband, two children, Albert of Hastings and Mary Alice Matthews of Hamburg, and four grandchildren.
