Baadwork put on oxhibitionJEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) — The Missouri State Museum has placed cm display a new exhibit containing Indian bead work from the collection of the late Mary Alicia Owen of St Joseph.Miss Owen was bom in St. Joseph in 1858 and was a well known folklorist in Britain and the United States. She authored several books dealing with the life and customs of the Indians, blacks and gypsies in the United States during the late 1800s.“The Missouri collection is one of unique importance because the only other display of this kind in the world is located in the Cambridge, England, University Musem and was also a gift of Miss Owen,” said Harold Shelton, museum technician.
