Oars from a radius of more than 50 miles brought hundreds of pleasure resort seekers to BirtlesRiverside Park and swimming pool Sunday last. Birtle Band entertained with music afternoon and evening and received many expressions of appreciation.Riverside Park has mauv charms. Rasy access from ail directions, over gravelled highways ; proximity, less than half a mile to what needs and amusements the town affords ; well equipped with tables, benches etc for picnickers, ample car parking space and unrivalled bathing and swimming pools of fresh water which the Mowing river assures. Cabins to rent for those planning a few weeks stay and space for touring tenters.Much thought and work has been spent to make what once was a dense swamp jungle into a park of restful, well shaded beauty hard to equal for extent and comfort. A pleasing feature is that it is not commercialized.We feel sure that Tommy Copeland, to w hose years of work and planning Riverside Park is mainly due. w ill strenuouslv iusist that it be a peoples pleasure resort and not drift into a profiteering venture.
