ShMtlmf AJhrajr.Last night, about ten o’clock, there was considerable excitement in the vicinity of Main and Third streets, caused by a shooting affray between Joseph App and Jack Hitch. We learn the following facts of the affair from an eye witness: App was in the Orescent City Billiard saloon, playing billiards, when Hitch came up to him, and remarked that he had whipped his girl, and could whip him, slapping him in the face at the same time, whereupon Apn drew his revolver and commenced nring at him. He fired four shots, one taking effect in the right forearm, passing obliquely and staking the artery. Drs. Maginneas and Compton were called in and made an examination of the wound, and attempted to extract the ball, but owing to the violence of Hitch they were compelled to let it remain until this morning. The physicians think he will lose his arm. App had a hearing before Squire Chute last night and was cleared. Hitch was arrested and is now in jail .—Evansville Courier, 28th.
