»nCherokee News ItemsApril 26—Alex Gay passed a-way Tuesday night in a San Saba nursing home. Burial was made in Hanna cemetery Thursday afternoon. Relatives visiting with Mrs. Gay were Mr. and Mrs. John Copeland, Johnny and Janie, of Sterling City, Mr. and Mrs. Vernon MeKissik, Tulsa, Okla., Ted MeKissik, Bartlesville, Okla. and Willis Gay, also of Oklahoma. We extend our sympathy to the Gay family.Mr. and Mrs. Wilson Kuykendall and Sandra recently attended a barbecue dinner et the home of Mr. and Mrs. Clinton Harlow in Llano.Mrs. Wilson Kuykendall accompanied Clinton Harlow and Mrs. Lynn Harlow to Fort Worth last Tuesday.John Kuykendall of Alice spent Monday night of last week with Mr. and Mrs. James Kuykendall.Mr. and Mrs. Arch Young visited Misses Zenith and Leola Young and Cleburne Young in Ballinger Thursday.Mr. and Mrs. Micky Harr and daughters of Junction spent Friday night and Saturday with Mr. and Mrs. El is Randolph.Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Randolph attended the singing convention in Brady Sunday.Mrs. Vann Maddox visited Mr. and Mrs. Roy Maddox and Elmo .Maddo:: at Llano Friday afternoon.Weekend guests of Mr. and Mr;:. Bon L.wis were Mrs. Prudie Miller and Mrs. Nellie Miller of Richland Springs and Mr. and Mrr. Jack Lewis and family of Midland.Homer Kuykendall received word Inst Monday of the death of his sister-in-law, Mrs. Paul Kuykendall, at Hemet, California.The senior class of Cherokee High School went to the Mayan Dude Ranch at Bandera thisweekend for their senior tr|ip. Those making the trip were Sandra Kuykendall, Martha Lock, Candace Cook, Deanna Castro, Darline and Randle Crain, Tooter Bode, Kenneth Johanson and sponsors, Charles Perry, Ted Bode and Mrs. Ezra Cook.Howard Perry returned home Sunday from San Saba Memorial Hospital.Mr. and Mrs. James Smith, Ann and David, visited Lee Schneider Saturday afternoon and prepared supper for Mr. and Mrs. Jack Howell and Mike, Mrs. Ona Wells of Dallas and Mr. and Mrs. Boss Bauman of Valley Springs. TheDallas folks visited the Smiths Sunday afternoon enroute home.Mrs. Vera Pearcy and Mrs. Ethel Roberts accompanied Mrs. Bill Kuykendall and Mrs. Gordon Gray to Goldthwaite recently to visit Mrs. Joe Smith.Mrs. Graves Burke of San Saba visited Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Burke end Miss Alice Holt Thursday. Mike Walters of Tribune, Kansas, spent the weekend with his family.Weekend guests of Mr, and Mrs. Dudley Battle were Mr. and Mrs. Dale Battle and family of Houston and Mr. and Mrs. Jack Byrd and family of Belton.Mr. end Mrs. Hurston Hallmark and family spent Monday and Tuesday with Mrs. Zula Hallmark and they all visited Mrs. Jack Hallmark in a Brownwood nursing home.Mr. and Mrs. George Taylor and Tommy returned to McCamey after spending a week with Mr. and Mrs. Vaughn Taylor.Mr. and Mrs. Oliver B. Altizer and children of San Marcos were weekend guests of Mr. and Mrs. R. T. Altizer and John.Mitchell Broyles of Abilene spent Tuesday night with Mrs. Mitch Broyles.Several, from here attended the funeral services of Will Broyles in San Saba Wednesday morning.Mrs. Richard Garza underwent surgery in San Saba Memorial Hospital Monday.Mrs. Cleo Daugherty visited in Llano Sunday night with Mrs. Ernie Forehand, Mrs. Katie Keng and Mrs. Mary Walker.Mrs. Lewis Brown and children of Pettus spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Dean.Mrs. Claude Dickerson of Goldthwaite spent last week with Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Dean.Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Allred of Buchanan Dam spent Sunday-night with Mr. and Mrs. George Boultinghouse.Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Lee Oliver and family spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Joe Oliver and family in Abilene.Mr. and Mrs. Mike Bogard and son and Mr. and Mrs. Billy Sanders and children of San Saba visited Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Bowden, Carolyn and Thomas, Sunday afternoon.Carolyn Bowden attended a birthday supper honoring Mrs. Nila Brandenberger in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Billy Sanders Friday night.—Mrs. V.
