Building RemovalAt Perry Dam SiteL1KANSAS CITY—Two Topeka firms were among apparent successful bidders Thursday for removal of buildings and other real estate improvements in the Perry Dam and Reservoir area 16 miles northwest of Lawrence.The bids were opened at the district office of the Corps of U.S. Engineers.Champney Wrecking Co., Topeka, was the apparent top bidder to remove a well house.Bayless House Movers, Topeka, were successful bidders on offers of $171 and $125 to remove two buildings.Other apparent leading bidders:Jerald Duree, Oskaloosa; N. R. McGrew, Hoyt; Vernon Clark, Denison; and Douglas Child Jr., Ozawkie.The property for sale and removal was in the Thompson-ville area and in the rural farm area from two to seven miles northwest of Perry.The Perry Dam will lie about four miles northwest of the city of Perry and the lake at normal pool will have about 12,200 surface acres of water.
