SURPRISE DINNER FOR MRS. THOMPSONFriday, April 17, being the birthday of Mrs. James Thompson, the relatives planned and successfully carried out a surprise dinner for her on Sunday, April 19, at her home northeast of town. Just before the neon hour the company arrived with well filled baskets and a big dinner and happy visit was enjoyed by a’l.The guests departed late in the afternoon, wishing Mrs. Thompson many happy returns of the day. Those present were:Mr. and Mrs. Roy Thompson and family and Mr. and Mrs. Glen Merry-man and family of Maroa; Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Thalman and Mr. and Mrs. Simon Stasik and family of Centralia and Mr. and Mrs. Tom Haley of Patoka.
