I TheatreiThe housewife of the future will ~o to the nearest phone and ask the f.elevox to turn on the dish washing machine, open the garage doors, light up the hall and start the coffee percolator.This was demonstrated yesterday at the Maryland Theatre when C. L. Kirkpatrick, o the Westinghoiise Electric Co., showed the audiences how Katrina Televox acts almost human.Katrina, turned on an electric train, a vacuum sweeper, blew an automobile horn, talked and several other things.Three different whistles are used and the televox works through the sound waves transmitted over the telephone. Combinations of whistles are used.Kirkpatrick said that the televox may be used in prisons to work machine guns when prisoners escape, through the operation of a light ray.They are now used to turn on and oft electric signs.Mayor Musev, city officials and officials of the Potomac Edison Co. saw the televox at a special demonstration yesterday afternoon. Among the guests of the theatre were Scott Lantz, president Monarch Club; Fred Wright, president Kiwanis Club; John Tenney, president of the Rotary Club; Thomas Hardinge, of the Lions Club; Chief Barber and Chief Jack Byers.Buster Keaton, in * Metro-Gold-wyn-Maver picture, brought forth laughs at the opening of his picture. ' Parlor, Bedroom and Bath.” Keaton doesn’t smile, but everyone else does.
