If the town is to celebrated May 24th or June 3rd, the King’s birthday, some move should be made to get a programme o' sports arranged. A celebration on either of these days would uot interfere with the big two day fair the Agricultural Society are holding this year.The Russell Ladies Band is now at full strength with a membership of 16. 'fhey are open for engagements on Spoil’s Days,Pairs, Garden Parties, etc, and it would be money well spent if the council would make a grant to this popular organization, the Band in return to give an opeu air concert one night a week.
