School Students Ride the RocketSeveral weeks ago a surprise invitation caine to the youngsters in the first grade at Pleasant Valley School. It was to come and have a ride on the “Rocket” one of the i Rock Island trains.The first grade has been working I on a unit on travel and transportation. As a culminating activity one ! clay last week they were taken to the Rock Island station in cars by ; three of the mothers of the children, Mesdames L. L. Rowley. Mar-i vin W. Fuller and C. L. Knight. They were loaded on the “Rocket, Rock Island’s crack train, by C.| P. Frederick, conductor, and one ot the Rock Island special agents and taken on a trip out to the Y and back into town again. They rode in the parlor observation car and enjoyed the radio with all the luxuries this train affords.Youngsters who made the trip were Theodore Burk. Edward Butterfield, Dorian Blasingame, J. C.
